About Deedra Boyer, M.S., LMHC

Author of Hey Fatso! A Memoir

Deedra Boyer has been a mental health therapist based in central Florida since 1996.

She got her start in counseling after graduating from St. Thomas University in Miami, focusing on clients' struggles with eating disorders and anxiety. She co-authored Winning Custody: A Woman's Guide to Retaining Custody of Her Children in 2001, and has lectured on issues pertaining to individual and family dynamics.

Deedra is committed to furthering the work of Dr. Christopher Germer, Dr. Kristin Neff and Dr. Richard Schwartz of self-compassion and Internal Family Systems therapy and her workshops, P.A.W.S., introduces these two life-changing concepts to her audience.

The concepts are learning to live in the present moment, accepting all parts of yourself, being willing to do whatever it takes to live a life healed from your past traumas, and always surrendering into your own loving arms of self-compassion. This is the formula she created for herself and is now sharing with you.

Deedra has always believed we are born to help each other through this experience called life and that your biggest challenge becomes your greatest gift to others.

Hey, Fatso! is her gift to you.
